Ok i had to fix a PC afew days ago the DSL modem was fried taking out the network car and cable so i replaced all three and all seemed fine but just afew mins ago i was called by the person saying Avast was reporting a Malware connection was stopped.. well when i replace everything i also updated Firefox to version 3 and all seemed fine and the PC has been off till today. She just turned it on and opened Firefox and Avast reported a Malware connection and aborted it but it done it again when she clicked on try again (You know when Firefox fails to connect it says it in the window and asks to try again). I asked her over the phone to tell it to abort the connection and start Firefox again from the start menu and it done it again.:confused Could Firefox been hijacked? or could it be a false alarm? I am heading over there in afew to check it out and see what is going on but thought i would ask here also.

Does Avast have a 'bad website' feature like AVG 8? Not the right words but do you understand what I mean.

Just got this alert from Avast as well. I've yet to upgrade to FF v3. Was Accessing a thread on MG software forum :-D Strange to say the least. Any way I aborted the connection and went right back and there were no issues this time round.

Ok now the alert is back with a bang, won't let me open anything rolleyes
Its obviously not FF related as even IE has the same probs.Being warned about Some thing called VBS:malware- gen. So posting this from another lappy with Norton and no probs. Avast false +ive I presume. Ok even as I'm typing this the Avast machine has updated it's AV data base and the net is back on :p lets see how it goes.

That seemed to fix it. Updating Avast got rid of it. ;)
