Firefox 3 Sort Bookmarks

I can I organise the websites I have saved in Bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox 3.6.17 in alphabetical order. I cannot see any obvious way of doing this.

 

Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks...

In the right window pane of the "Library" window, right click on the folder you want to sort, at the bottom of the context menu is "Sort By Name".

As I add bookmarks will they now be added to the list in alphabetical order or will have have to manually sort them.

 

Try adding a bookmark and see what happens. Duh!

I think you will have to manually resort them. I've organized them via folders, so when I add a bookmark, I add it to the corresponding folder.

 

Yes, when adding new bookmarks to a folder, one has to sort them again. Same for standalone sites which are individually showing under the bookmarks as when adding to bookmarks, they end up at the bottom of the bunch. That is if you want to sort them by name alphabetically or whatever other choices are available.
