I use it and the Pale Moon version, I don't have any problems with it but you might have some add-ons that are still incompatible.

I use Firefox 4 standard and I have no problems at all.

I use to use it, but now run firefox 6.0a1 (nightly). Still no problems. Just have to manually modify my add-ons to get them to work.

    Hi

Works ok for me in the normal release version and the Nightly 4.2a1pre version, just may as mentioned noticed the odd few addons (if you install alot of these) may not work until the developer of them has updated them to be compatible.

Yuk, I used this version for about ten minutes before reverting back to the older version. So with only spending ten mins with it I cannot really criticise but personally, I hate it :-D Perhaps the looks of it, it's just not feeling like FF to me.

You have to spend a few minutes getting it the way you're used to, for sure.

You know that there is a Fx extension: status-4-Evar that lets you put back all the familiar views of Fx 3? Anyway, to each its own. ;)

I love the Fx 4.0 version although it's using more memory and such.

I tweaked FF4 until I got it to look exactly like 3. Yup, I installed status-4-evar and had my status bar back. I also moved noscript and nosquint back down there where I'm used to seeing them. I have my menu bar showing as well as the navigation bar. I moved my tabs down below my navigation bar because I was afraid if the tabs were at the top, I click something I didn't intend to every time I closed a tab. I moved my home icon over near the back and forward arrows where I'm used to seeing it

I have to say, it is noticeably faster on one site I go to daily. I'm an admin at the eeepcusers forum and have to ban and censor daily. The censor page took about 1/2 - 1 minute to load because of all the sites, emails and words censored. It was a chore. That page loads so much faster now that I really appreciate v4.

Try it and start tweaking if you have the default appearance. Show things you want to see and move the icons where you are used to clicking.

I use to use firefox 4 but I didn't like it after that i switched back to Opera 11.10 but then that's when I heard about Rockmelt 2 beta which I given a try and that's what I have stuck with ever since.

Very Fast and based on chromium 10.

I've been using FF4 for about 2 months now, and couldn't be happier. As to the issue with the look and feel, it took a little getting used to, but after a few days it felt like second nature, and I'm always glad to have the extra screen real estate.

Yeah browsers in general tend to over their beta testing phases start to aquire options and in some cases the look and feel of a rival, is that a bad thing, in most cases not as for the end user it gets these companies to actively come up with better ideas for the next versions.

I can see where you think they look similar as in many of the iocns as in Home, Favorites etc but I think that those symbols are a bit universal in usage and earlier versions of Opera 7, you can see in part the tab & icon design that we have in the main now it browsers.

I still have no idea what the group tabs thing is for as it doesnt save the list of tabs on close and re-open of browser, Opera Speed Dial is what it should have looked and worked like (Chrome has Speed Dial also, Opera did develope this much earlier though). IE9 has a similar thing nto as polished but if you set it as your main homepage it seems to open IE quicker, type about:tabs into the address bar and set s your one and only homepage.

But browsers are like socks, you have your favorite pair and you are comfortable with it, so stick with what you like, their are no real bad browsers these days.

Thats true what DavidGP said but the main reason people are asking which browser should i go for or which to avoid? is security.

People worried about surfing on the web with certain browser will bring in malware or viruses but it's not the browser that brings it in its the end user and also depends on what security software is installed on your system if you have a good security software installed then hardly anything will get through to infect your system.

The other reason is speed. Again it's not down to the browser its on its what your connection is. They all browse at the same speed not one faster than the other. Opera has got turbo but it's useless unless you have a slow connection (low broadband or dial up).

People should go with what they feel comfortable with features and other things and stick with it. :-D

To know which most popular add-ons work with what version in Firefox is showing in this link. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/compatibility/report

Also here's a link which add-ons in Firefox are slower in startup time and possibly slow down browsing. Be aware that this list can be changed since it is updated weekly. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/performance/#addon-11

AFAIK Febe backup is in beta and am waiting for a release. Meanwhile using Mozbackup. http://mozbackup.jasnapaka.com/

Firefox user since fall of 2004 and currently Fx 4.0.
