Firefox 5.0

Greetings.

Don't know if y'all saw it or not, but Mozilla Firefox 5.0 Final was released on the front page yesterday.

I'm gettin' ready to fire it up...

 

I've got it running now and it still peeves me off like 4.xx when it doesn't save my current open tabs incase of a forced shutdown like 3.xx did right out of the box, I must be missing something even though I went through all the options twice.:confused The rest can wait as I hardly ever use/need most everything they serve, default worked fine in 3.xx.

 

Check under History > Restore Previous Session. Not as obvious as having the option 'in your face' when restarting it admittedly.

And, if you're a CCleaner user, uncheck the Sessions box to save it from being auto-deleted.

 

Aah, good old history eh? That's one area I didn't think to look at even though it makes sense now being there.:-o Thanks.

 

It would also increase the useful options if there was a way to save Sessions, too, pretty sure that should be possible, it's on the menu bar in K-Meleon, which is based on SunBird/FX 2.x, 3.x and 3.15 currently.

Entering about:config in Fx and plugging sessions into the filter box shows some interesting possibilities

 

Couple of things: I don't use a lot of extensions, but one I do use did not transfer over - WordCaptureX isn't compatible with FF 5.0 yet. I've contacted Deskperience about it - will advise if there's any input.

Everything else is working fine so far: Java looks good (Chess.com uses a pretty intensive applet), YouTube looks and sounds good, no obvious scripting anomalies, yada yada...

 

Session Manager 0.7.5 seems to work pretty well.
