Firefox And Internet Explorer 5-6 Processes Each

When running firefox or IExplorer I have way too many processes running in task manager. I've never seen this and I always keep a close eye on my processes. Not sure if this is just a recent update but from the research I've done I haven't seen anybody else complain about it. The memory usage climbs so high that the internet starts lagging big time. I've included snapshots of IE with 5 open processes and firefox with 6. Thanks

 

Firefox has what you call Enable multi-process .This is the reason why you have so many of them processes for firefox.

Try this for that fix.It will disable the multi-process for firefox.

1. Type in about:config in your address bar. (Click the I accept the risk! button to pass the warning screen).
2. Look for the accessibility.loadedInLastSession preference and change its value to false.
3. Clear the accessibility.lastLoadDate preference by right-clicking to bring up the context menu, and selecting Reset.
4. Restart Firefox.

Now for the Iexplore.exe

Let me look up more info on this.Internet explore should not be using this many processes,Unless you are having multi open tabs.

 

Now question for you.

When these multiple Iexplore.exe processes keep popping up in the Task manager.??? Is the web browser open or closed???.This could either help us determine if you got Spyware,Virus,Malware,or some thing elese.

I would recommend for now be for going any further scanning your computer.For any type of virus or malware.

I would head over to the malware forums and ask them for read your malware or virus log's.

Thanks for the quick response. I went to the about:config and I don't even have accessibility.loadedInLastSession , as an option. For both firefox and IE, I have to open the browser for all the processes to
come up.

 

You can add it your self.

Right click any where in the about config page select New and type or paste these below.
