FireFox Auto complete

hi i did a search and i came up with nothing. so i was wondering if someone can help me with the firefox feature that is the auto complete. i need to turn it off. its jus irratates me and its makes me lazy to not type anything becasue ive already searched it. thaNKS

 

I don't think there is an option to turn it off. You just have to clear your history.

 

i tried to clear my history and its still there. i go under the tools and then options and then to privacy and i clean then all...

hey thanks for the anwer. but how do i create the userchrome.css file? and also will the autocomplete get rid of my search bar ones as wel? just a thought

It's a bit to learn, but worth it in the long run. You can install the userchrome extension to make things a little easier

I don't have any history when I search, possibly because I just use the standard Google search that installs with Firefox. I do add search engines to suit my needs, and none of them has ever kept a history. I'm not a big fan of these enhanced toolbars you can install in FF; with all the eye candy, you always end up at the same place

 

hmmi think we are on differetn levels. im talking about autocomplete thats like under google and all. liek when i type in the letter A everything that ive serched that starts with an A wil come up... :/

 

I've never had a history from my search bar in Firefox, so I guess we need to see if someone else has the answer.

Did you install either of the extensions I linked to? That may be why I never have the history you speak of.

 

yeh the paranoia button yeah. i dont this jus started to happen. i used to be able to clean my history under tools and so on, and it would be gone. not now... i udno what happened..

 

Clear saved form information found under the privacy tabs in Tools.

Note that 1.5 will feature "Clear Private Data" which gives you much more control on how/when private data is stored/erased.

 

ok i wasnt sure if that would delete the things that i type in forms. i.e my name, my address etc and email....? but ohwell if i gets rid of the crap then thtas fine.

Unless you want to fiddle with downloads and setting and all that you can't just disable one internet site's history... It will clean all of it. Except, your user passwords, if you have any.
