Where does Firefox store images and data that show up on the web page?

I know IE puts the data in a cache folder or Temporary internet files folder.

But where does FF keep it?

    Thanks,

    Try:

    C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{something}.default\ Cache

Or, in the address bar, type in:

    about:cache (press enter).

Here, you should have a link to: List cache entries. Click that for your cache.

Also, you can look into memory cache.

Actually, since v. 1.5. the Cache folder is outside the profile folder, for the convenience of those using roaming profiles. So the path is now

    C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local Settings\ApplicationData\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{something}.default\ Cache

About:cache is the way to view the contents, though; that folder is encrypted.

Yes, i finally figured it out using the about: cache trick. Thanks.

I like to do a weekly cleaning of my caches, etc. So, Now, my question is, why won't my Window washer program remember this location to clean the folder? I browsed to the folder and 'saved' the setting, but the moment i click on another button in the window or do anything, it reverts to the original location. Strange. I finally had to cut and paste the folder to the original place for it to work.

    Any WWasher owners out there?

Pressing CTRL + SHIFT + DEL, while in FireFox, will bring up the "Clear Private Data" box.

Here you can what you wish to clear up, within firefox.

I wouldn't use Window Washer with Firefox, I've seen posts on the Firefox help forums about it causing problems with Firefox.

Use the Firefox "Clear Private Data" function; or, if you want to clean Windows at the same time, use CCleaner. It works very well with Firefox.
