Running XP Pro and auto update on Firefox.

I can't access websites/pages with logins and passwords. But can surf just fine where logins are not required. For example, I can access yahoo but can't get into email.

Don't have this problem with IE. But would prefer to use Firefox.

What happens when you type in your username and password?

What addons are enabled in FF? (I assume this is 3.5.1)

can't even get to the page where you enter username and password. The page will not load - asks if you type in the right address or have connection or that kind of thing.

Their are still a few sites that just don't work on FF (though they are VERY RARE) for these pages I use IE TAB add on.
this does not sound like your case but its still good to have in those sketchy times

    the add ons are:
    adobe acrobat
    google update
    java platform se 6 u11
    microsoft drm
    mozilla default plug-in
    quicktime plug-in 7.6
    shockwave flash
windows media player plug-in dynamic link library
    windows presentation foundation

does this help and do you need more info?

strangely, I am able to login to majorgeeks with firefox.

I'll probably have to do that. I don't believe there are any add-ons (nothing under Manage Add on, Extensions in the Main tab). Could it be conflict in the Applications (plenty of those).

Is there a chance that malware or some sort of infectious file is doing this?(virus)
Try updating your java..But a error message(if there is one) Could help us alot.

In the FF under Tools/Options, click privacy. Is Accept Cookies from Sites checked/ticked? It needs to be. You can remove all the cookies when you are done but in order to login anywhere, you do have to allow the browser to set a cookie for that site.

If you test for Fx then you should know the FTP locations of the nightly builds?!! Personally I'm on Fx 3.6a1pre in testing.

While upgrading to FF3.5.2 I had to close the Online Armor, and that did the trick. So I looked in the Online Armour config and found the Firewall Rules tab had Firefox TCP outbound in red, denying access to ports 21(ftp), 80(http), 443 (https), 843, 1935, 4500-4504, 4509, 5050, 6103, 7099, 8080.

I don't know what the other ports are for, should I allow access to all of them or just delete the port 443 from the list - assuming this is the culprit.
