Installed Cookie Culler on a friends computer (yesterday), trying to get into gmail or any forum, i either kept getting reset, asked for password again (forums), and with gmail after entering email/pw would get the screen saying, " Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on."
Took cookie culler out, still same problem, deleted FF uninstalled (i mean), installed, still same problem, any ideas?

Check IE and see if it's cookie is enabled if not then enable it.

Uninstalling/re-installing Firefox doesn't change the Firefox profile. Try creating a new profile(don't delete the old one yet): http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new
Make sure that you have it created in the default location, or make a new, empty folder to put it in if you create a profile in a different location.
If the problem doesn't exist when running a clean profile, then do this: http://the-edmeister.home.comcast.net/tips-html/tips-restoring_your_browsing_data.html

You'll have to re-install extensions and installed themes.

    thanks greeknight
actually, i FINALLY figured out it was the bookmarks that were somehow corrupt (COINCIDENTALLY after i installed cookie culler).
I saved bookmarks + extensions with the mozbackup program and everytime i installed the bkmks/extensions back into the new fresh install...i'd get the same cookie page reply as i posted earlier.
thankfully, i had a backup with bookmarks only and installed that on a new install again and all is well...what i dont get it, why wouldn't you recommend a clean uninstall/reinstall, saying it doesn't change the firefox profile...because it sure does ;)

You didn't say you did a clean re-install. If you just uninstall in Add/Remove Programs and re-install, your Firefox profile will be unchanged. The Mozilla Firefox installation folder in C:\Program Files also remains, containing most of your plug-ins.

Re-installing the browser was pointless, however, the problem was entirely in your profile.

well that's what i meant lol
uninstalled - would mean a clean one, most people should know by now that the folder under app/data should be deleted as well as in regedit (2 diff areas).
but i do feel better doing a complete clean reinstall, rather than just picking here and there ;)
    thanks anyways
