Error with Flash 10 as an add-on. Reinstalled the app. no more error message but FF is still not playing youtube.

I dropped all the FF browsers and Old Java programs. Installed the latest browser and JRE versions. Activated Xcontrol, Updated the IE browser Critical updates which included another Java script. Did a Registry Fix: first 6/300.

I don't know where to begin with Majorgeek so I am starting here. If you can redirect me it is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Gary

    Hi

Goto Add/Remove and remove any Adobe Flash Player Plugin, Adobe Flash Player ActiveX, Adobe Shockwave player if found.

Then run the uninstaller from Adobe ( Download here ), then goto the C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\ folder and delete the Shockwave and Flash folders *in part guessing here as some Windows versions may save them in a different location, so do please tell us your Windows version and Service Pack?*

Then run CCLeaners Cleaner and Registry tools ( run the Registry one a few times until no items are found )

Run the Windows Installer Cleanup tool and delete any mentions of Flash or Shockwave.

    Reboot.

Then install Flash and Shockwave again

Flash Player (install the IE one and on the page is a link to the version for Firefox, Opera and Safari, install that one also)
    Shockwave Player

then try again and does youtube work in IE or are you having same issue as Firefox? if not then when you try a video on youtube in the video box do you see a message or a symbol? please describe either occurance seen (mayeb its a Q logo for Quicktime), then check some settings in Firefox

Open Firefox and click Tools > Options then the Content icon then make sure there is a tick in the Enable Javascript box, close the browser and open and try again.

Then if not sucessful, run Firefox in its Safe Mode (found in the Firefox folder on Start Menu) do the Videos work? if they do work its an add-on you have installed and do you have Addblock installed? as many add-ons to Firefox are known the break various sites, this one can cause issues in Youtube, remove it to test.

What Security software do you have installed Antivirus, Firewall etc? disable these to test.
