Firefox error message problem!!

Firefox gives me a error message below when I try and open the Firefox Desktop Icon. Firefox is already closed and is not open!!

Should I install it and reinstall it?? N my Opin Windows IE has a conflict w/ Firefox. Is error mes coming from windows?? I am using both IE and Firefox.



Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

 

Firefox did not shut down properly, it's still running in processes. Ctrl+Alt+Del and End Process "firefox.exe" in Task Manager under Processes. If crashing all the time you have another issue. Have you checked for updates.

 

Does it really say "Firefox is already closed and is not open" as the error message :confused New one on me :-D

I don't think your problem is IE having a conflict with FF - the two are separate browsers. I am guessing (as the error message isn't so clear that you gave) that FF already has an instance running that hasn't closed properly for some reason, so it will not allow you to open another.

Try this:

Open Task Manager (CTRL+DELETE+ALT in XP) and in the Processes tab of the window that appears look for a firefox.exe that is running. Click on it and then click the End Process button. Reboot your machine.

I could not find foxfire.exc in task manager/processes tab.

 

I have delete and reinstall Firefox and problem is still there. I have cleaned it off my Reg also. and that did not help. I guess I am stuck w/ Wins IE. What would we do if we did not have wins to to make us happy. LOL @$#%@ and so on!! :-D

 

If FF is running even when you aren't starting it, you might have malware.
