Firefox freezing randomly

I have a samsung laptop with windows 7. I use Firefox and sometimes when click on a website, for example, my homepage is yahoo, i will click on something on the website and firefox will minimize and the blue loading circle is showing, it only does this for about 10 seconds and then the page automatically comes back up. It also does it sometimes when i open a new website. It doesn't do it all the time and it is only a brief problem but it can be quite annoying and i just wanted to know what is causing it

Couple of quickies to try:

1. Make sure your version of Firefox is up to date - while the browser is open navigate to Help > About Firefox which should show your current version number.

2. Try the browser with no add-ons - navigate to Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled. If your symptoms change with add-ons/extensions/plugins disabled then you can selectively re-enable them to find the culprit(s).
