FireFox Google trouble

I'm using FireFox. :major Google has been working, but just stopped suddenly one day. Now, no matter what query I send via the toolbar or the address bar, it just gives me a blank page with a 0 on it. (No html source, just a 0).:confused I can't even access google.com. I found that the response headers were

:ban Google works in other browsers on the same computer. I haven't been overusing their service or anything as far as I know. I just edited one of my searches a few days ago, and got a 0, so thought something was down and used Yahoo. Now that it still isn't working, I looked at the headers with the Web Developer plugin, and was surprised!:hammer

 

I got to http://www.google.com/analytics/ but still can't load google.com

Would this thread be better in the programming subforum?

 

There was a recent post about a browser returning just a zero on a page but I can't find the original thread.

Did you try clearing the cache?
Can you get to google by following a link http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=majorgeeks&aq=8&oq=majp ?

 

Does it work in Firefox Safe Mode ? (not your computer safe mode, but Firefox's own safe mode)

Thanks, chaimjm for the links. I remember a thread that had the exact zero problem but I didn't follow it, so I don't know if it was solved.

My thought was that if a google page could open then in Google Preferences unticking the "Give me suggestions" circle would take google-analytics out of the equation.

 

do you have avg antivirus? try turning off avg's safe search option (or something like that)

 

Thanks for the help. It works now. I don't know what the problem was, but I think I somehow got suspended from google for a few weeks, and now I'm allowed back. I don't know what caused this, but it encouraged me to get more familiar with Yahoo.
