    What the H E 2 L is going on?
Signed back on computer. Went to cue up Firefox, Icon had disappeared
Give me a break. I got a new computer because of all the problems I was having with the old one. 2 weeks after installing this one and already problems?
I found FFox in programs list, but cannot get the icon back on desktop. What revoltin' development this is.

Right click on the Firefox icon in the program folder and choose Send to and select Desktop (create shortcut). Also, you can choose Pin to Taskbar which now acts like Quick launch used to.

Right-click on the firefox icon in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox and select Create shortcut.
    You'll see...
    Firefox.jpg
    Click Yes.

Now if it disappears again, make sure the cleanup wizard isn't enabled. That cleans "unused" icons off the desktop. The problem is, it sometimes guesses an icon is unused when it isn't.

What OS are you running? If 7, please sate if it is Home Premium, Pro, or Ultimate.

Okay, I'll need to do some searching. Disabling this is done through the Group Policy editor but Home Premium doesn't include that which makes it harder.

I want to find something that isn't overly complicated.

I found something but it means editing the registry so before we tackle that: see if the icon disappears again.

If it does, you are going to go on a recon mission.
    1. Click on Control Panel
    2. Click on Administrative Tools
    3. Click on Task Scheduler
    4. Down where is says Task Status, the default is 24 hours. Click the down arrow and change this to 7 days.
    5. Wait until it populates or perhaps remains blank if there were no scheduled tasks.

If it is blank then something else is going on.
If there are items in there under Task Name, please post what it says in the Name column only.
