Firefox keeps on crashing & takes time to load.

Hi all,
My first thread in this particular sub forum. I had lots of malwares on my PC. I got help from the Malware removal experts here. Thanks to them, i have removed most of them. But i have this trouble with Firefox. My firefox keeps on crashing every now and then. Also its takes time to load it. Latest symptoms are: when i open lots of windows, it simply crashes, or some Firefox subwindow opens up and asks for additional comments. And also sometimes i play some embedded video player and try to enlarge it, it just freezes.
What should i do? Let me know .

Try this first: open the safe version of firefox (found in the programs list). Browse for a while. Do you get the same crashes? If not, then FF is okay, it is just your profile that is corrupt. Create a new profile and import your bookmarks.

To create a new profile, Start/Run and type the following including the quotes also note the space between the end quote and the - sign
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\MOZILLA FIREFOX\firefox.exe" -p

The above will get you a popup that you can use to create a new profile and delete the one that is corrupted.

To export your bookmarks to a floppy or a flash drive:
1. Click on Bookmarks, then Organize Bookmarks.
2. In the popup, click on File then Export.
3. Select the proper location of the portable device in the Save in box and click save. The file is called bookmarks.html
When you have the new profile created, go through the steps above but in step 2, select Import and the bookmarks.html will be placed in your new profile.
