Firefox loads homepage twice

I have Firefox (32.0.3) homepage set to Google. Recently I've noticed that when I open the browser, the home page loads, then in a few seconds it looks like it loads again, but not re-directed - it's still Google. I tired resetting Firefox and also running it in Safe Mode (browser safe mode, not system safe mode). The problem continues. I can't find any references or solutions to why this is happening. Attached is a screen shot of how I've set up the homepage in the General Tab. Any suggestions or easy fixes?
