For about the past 2 weeks or so upon starting Firefox using the Restore last known session in History more often that not brings up a message on the tabs I had last open saying "gah. your tab just crashed" Such things as copying the address and pasting it in on the crashed tab also brings up this message, as does opening the address from a bookmark. I did think it was Trend Micro causing these errors but the problem appears to be something else, as when I was on the phone with Trend tech support it worked just fine. I have one crash message which was generated when I attempted to restore one of these tabs Firefox itself crashed. this only appears to happen when I first start my computer after that it works fine. The error message when it crashes is at https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/ce41ccca-f13e-466c-9136-db9740181102. I've tried Mozilla support but they seemed unable to assist. This appears to affect new tabs and bookmarks I create also.

The Mozilla crash signature indicates a problem with a specific Windows 7 (video decoder) file, perhaps you need to check that you've updated Windows Media Player fully and installed any related patches via Windows Update.

It might be that one of the tabs contains a video/advert that triggers it, possibly indicative of malware/malvertising, though it might well be the result of an over-zealous AV.

Which version is your msmpeg2vdec.dll, mine is 12.0.9200.17037?

Mine's 12.0.7601.23930 and yes I diod think it was my antivirus initially but when I rang when about it Firefox decided to work fine. Diagnosing a problem that doesn't occur consistently is not easy as this particular problem has been happening fairly regularly but lately it seems to work sometimes but not always.
