Firefox or Windows Update?

Have been using Firefox with no problems while surfing.
Now, after a Windows Update, every website I go to with Firefox gets flagged as having an invalid Certificate.
    Yes, even MG.
Very annoying to go through 7-8 clicks to get to where 1 always got me before.
Is this the result of or reaction to a Windows security update or what?

Check with Windows/Microsoft Update that there isn't an Update for Root Certificate or similar, on offer somewhere that's been missed out.

EDIT: list a few sites, I'll check them out?

    This Connection is Untrusted

You have asked Firefox to connect
securely to www.facebook.com, but we can't confirm that your connection is secure.
Normally, when you try to connect securely,
sites will present trusted identification to prove that you are
going to the right place. However, this site's identity can't be verified.

    What Should I Do?

    If you usually connect to
this site without problems, this error could mean that someone is
trying to impersonate the site, and you shouldn't continue.

    Technical Details

    I Understand the Risks

This is what pops up for Facebook.

I don't use FB so i only see the front page to login or join up, no errors from Pale Moon 9 or FX 11, i'll try to grab a portable version of FX 10 to test.

In the meantime, it may be somewhat related to this (unlikely), a problem within FX or the FX profile, not really got much of a clue yet - back to searching ...

I have a hit from today that might be worth checking over for ideas, use IE for it, it might be less frustrating.
Makes it look like Firefox needs tweaking somewhere. Take a read and check the links in there.

GRR, hate the 10 minute Edit restriction :(

EDIT: Whoops, mustn't forget the simple things, ensure your date and time are correct!

Is what I wanted to add ;)

I feel like the newest "boot up the back side" recruit.
You nailed it with your last post.
Machine had sat idle for some time without a CMOS battery.
    Reinserted battery and booted up.
Never thought about checking the date and time.
Time was correct, but the year that showed was 2005.

    No problem,

It's so easy to over-think things when it comes to anything computer related.

I'd also noticed a spate, had one page throwing an error myself last night, that's why I initially jumped to search engines for recent data.

Worth keeping an eye on it - I'll post anything I find on the subject...

I updated 4 computers today: three running XP and one running Win 7. No certificate problems on my home computers.
The only update I did not install was one from January that has lots of problems KB2585542 (having to do with SSL). Did you by any chance install that?
