Firefox problems

Just today I have been unable to open friefox on my desktop, it will show up in the process list but thats it, ive attached my hijackthis log, its prolly filled with porn spyware. please help.

 

download the newest version, install over and that should fix it...i had the same problem a while back and that fixed it for me...didnt write over my cookies or bookmarks either

 

Thanks but that still didnt quite work. I also seemed to have a problem with my sound card(wouldnt detect it) at the same time this showed up but that was fixed with a simple reboot still cant open firefox

 

Uninstall firefox, then re-install it. I do this all the time with the alpha nightly builds, when ever they break.

But, make sure that firefox is not running in the background.

Or, you can run:

Click START, RUN, type in:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -safe-mode

Yes, with the quotes....

Or :

firefox -safe-mode

Does firefox startup now?

 

omg thank you safe mode works. I dont have to use IE anymore woohoo!!!!

 

it still wont work outside of safe mode though so...

 

Mabey you should try uninstalling it, using CCleaner to get rid of the firefox crap left behind in the registry, and then try doing a fresh install of the latest version.

 

What extensions are ye using. As the Dreamer suggested, and what I orriginally suggested, perhaps an uninstall and re-install may work.

Btw, it isn't firefox crap, it is firefox "droplings".

 

hahaha, I'm gonna have to call it all droplings from now on.

 

if firefox loads for you in safemod and not in normal mode, it's probably an extension locking it up.. disable your extensions one by one and see if that helps you find the culprit.
