Well... I somehow managed to lose my profile in Firefox. I've followed the online help in attempts to find it in my Documents folder on the old C drive but with no luck.

I could have sworn I saw a menu item somewhere in Firefox that would allow me to select the correct profile but, of course, I can't find that either.

Now I'm without all my bookmarks.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hope this helps first to find the file you have to go to windows Tools/folder Option then uncheck "Show hidden files.... and Hide extensions...... and Hide protected......... at this one you will get a warning message just say click yes.

Now you should be to see were your going look for C:\Documents and Settings\(User name)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.6m8

    Good Luck

You probably can just open the Profile Manager and select your profile - if there's another profile in there besides the one that's highlighted, that's it. Go to Start > Run, enter firefox.exe -p . That's firefox.exe space hyphen p. if that doesn't work, use profilemanager instead of the letter p. I'm not sure how to recover your lost profile, but for future reference on how NOT to lose your profile.. You know that dialog that will come up when u start firefox that says "choose a profile"? well when u see that message, don't select anything, just hit cancel and close firefox. Now do CTRL ALT DEL to get into Windows Task Manager, go to the processes tab and look for firefox.exe. Right mouse click that process and click End Process. Now exit windows task manager and launch firefox again. No more dialog requesting for you to choose a profile (which by the way, no matter which one you choose they all reset your firefox settings) and back to surfing. Good luck
