Firefox program and Addons seem to be auto updating

I use XP and FF 3.0.3. I don't have the fastest internet service around so when FF loads it seems is checking for updates and addon updates each time it opens it takes a long time.
The reason I think that is doing that, is that occasionally the addon update box pops up with an update for a certain addon showing and asking if I want to update it.
I prefer to do it manually when I'm not waiting for FF to load.
Is there a way to fix this? I can't seem to find it in the options.

It looks like it is in Tools>Options>Advanced>Update tab

 

As shown in the pic below you can change your settings there.

I just got SnagIt a few weeks ago and am screenshot happy. I gotta say I love that software.

floyd, with the new tabs in Options it's easy to miss. I had to search around for it. FF3 is not quite as intuitive as the older versions in my opinion.
