    Hello.
Today when I went to connect to my email I got a page from Firefox saying my email site wasn't properly identifying itself and I should click on something saying 'get me out of here'. It had a police symbol on it, a bust of a man in uniform. Every once in a while long time ago I got one of these but it seemed for a legit reason. Then I tried to change my search engine to google, but I got the same warning message. Then I tried to go to Firefox site as firefox is my browser and I got the same message from Firefox that its own site wasn't giving valid identification. I had to click on the exception thing to make an exception in order to go to an email site, and in order to get to your site. Can someone tell me what is going on? I am unable to bring up anything without this message impeding me. Please keep it simple as I was raised before the computer age and its not my forte.
    Thank you.

    Hi.
I think I just resolved the problem. I had changed some of my internet options settings a few days ago. I went into tools /internet options/advanced and where it said When a server requests my certificate; then gave the two options: give it to them automatically; or: ask me everytime. I had changed from the first to the second. I changed back to 'give it automatically'. Then I again tried to reconnect to my email and got thru without the message. I don't really know what my certificate thing is abouut and should not have been messing around. I don't know why this seems to have solved the problem. Could someone tell me. Were the sights not giving info because I wasn't? But neither was I being prompted to anywhere. Not sure if its over, will let you know. Would still appreciate your input and suggestions.
    Thanks,

Hi again. Well the issue seems to be fixed. I fixed it intuitively. Maybe someone could explain to me why it actually worked.

Your browsers keep a list of valid certificates and use them to check that a site you go to is legitimate.
In XP the certificates had to be taken take of through Windows updates when old ones or bogus ones were removed and up to date ones were installed.
Newer version of Windows do all the certificate shuffling in the background.
