firefox server not found

i was told to use firefox as my web browser and now it keeps popping up with server can not find and list the page i want and says make sure firefox is permitted to access internet something about a fire wall what does that mean. also my internet explorer someone set a password and when i click the e it has a box content advisor and asks for the password i don't know it the computer was given to me please help i am getting frustrated :confused

 

Firefox unexpectedly stopped working 2 days ago. Ie worked for alittle while and then crapped out too. They both say that they can't establish a connection to the server even though my wireless connection seems to be working fine. I have Avast! And spybot. 2 days ago I noticed a red sign on the avast icon so I clicked it and an error message popped up. It read Avast!: The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error. My husband tried to delete Avast through the control panel but failed and now neither firefox nor ie work. ANY input is welcome!

 

I think I'm in the same boat. It worked find this afternoon (and has since installed last weekend & 3.5.1 earlier this week) Now, NOTHING! Back to IES ... after all my effort jumping onto mozilla bandwagon? I think I twisted my knee.

 

To night I am having that trouble.Started when I could not stay singed in.
It told me that I was using the wrong password.I do not know a thing about pc,s,I have Norton360 so I did the pc tune up.no trouble on fierfox but internet explore I do.I am using firefox now.But it is not to good.I am in the same boat with you.May be some one will have mercie on us.rolleyes
