I'm just recently (in the last few days) getting reacquainted with Vista (for better and worse).

I'm having trouble organizing bookmarks in Firefox, similarly as before, only a bit different this time.

I am attempting to setup/organize the Bookmarks Toolbar, and some of the folders (those near the end of the list) keep dropping into other folders (as like, 'extensions' of those folders, I suppose you might say).

How can I get the folders I want to setup on the toolbar, OUT of the other folders, please? Dragging/dropping (as I am accustomed to doing it in XP) is not getting the job done.

    Thanks in advance...

Ok, I think I figured it out...sort of (not really) - enough for my purposes anyway.

Seems to be a pretty silly setup...at least compared to how it works in XP.

    Hi Glenn

If you have found a workaround then great stick with it, although I cannot see whats going wrong for you as I setup a WinXP PC next to a Windows 7 one (close to Vista anyhow) and the drag n drop works exactly the same on both, from the bookmarks menu and the Library window.

I tend to use the Library Window to manage bookmarks (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks) and lets see if I can spend a bit of time on this and create a small image based guide for you, I know the main KB on this is here

I'm using Minefield but the library in the release version is similar.... so if I have you correct you wish to use the Bookmarks Toolbar and have seperate folders for say various websites etc? if thats the case let me know or tell me more what you need?

Thank you sir. Unfortunately, since posting this, I have entangled myself in a wireless network problem (sabotaged my own network!?!), which takes priority in that my bookmarks are moot on that PC (Vista) if I can't access the web (I tend not to synchronize sites/pages so I can't view them without a connection).

If I ever get this network issue figured-out, I would like to finish this thread, though again, I seem to have found a workaround that suffices.

    Thank you again...
