Firefox waiting for 127.0.0.1

    Firefox stalls while "waiting for 127.0.0.1". I know this is me! It only seems to happen when I am in "My Ebay". I have seen reports on other forums of this irritation. Their solutions either don't seem relevant or are beyond my understanding!

    Running windows XP sp2 fully updated. No proxy. Zonealarm firewall. Firefox 2.0.0.1

    Any ideas in simple language please.

    I would say its a firewall access problem (ZA)....I have had this prob with firefox and comodo!

    Have you tried disabling your firewall and seeing what happens, this will tell you for sure or not!

    If you still cant access, then the problem lies elsewhere!

    OK. Thanks Nitecrawler. It is a Zonealarm problem. How can I configure ZA to not do this?

    Go to program control and find FF on the list, hover the cursor over the question mark and choose allow.

    As you Do have latest version of Firefox, which was suppost to fix an error like this, you could try the below or start with what Augie posted above,


    I have no idea why Firefox would fall over trying the 127.0.0.1 IP address as thats the loopback IP to your own PC.... you could put that address manually into Zone Alarms Trusted Zones area, Open Zone Alarm > click Firewall menu on left side > Zones tab > Add > IP Address > type or choose in the boxes, the below

    Trusted
    127.0.0.1
    Loopback Adapter

    then click OK and try again.

    Hi Guys. Thanks for all the ideas. I have played around with Zonealarm to no avail. Changed my firewall to Kerio and the problem up and disappeared!
