firefox WMP problem

Every tim I want to play something using windows media player it says that I need to install the plugin ever thou I already have, I install it but the next time I go on it has somehow LOST the plugin again.
I know about the "about:config" thing and some other one but have forgotten them and haven't been able anything about them online.
Right when I fix the firefox PDF viewer the WMP plugin messes up.

Or alternatively download and use Media Player Classic (free) and open source which I now use and it seems to open all the things that the Windows Player does and with less hassle.

Thanks, looks like it's solved, and it's aboutlugins that can be typed into the URL bar to see your plug-ins.
