I'm hoping that someone can figure this problem out.Last week I tried
this new 1.5 firefox. It wasn;t working right ,some of the browsing links
wouldn't work.So I tried to go back to the other one firefox I had before.
Anyway I not sure what happened but I couldn't oven firefox anymore.
So I went to system restore and moved back the settings to an eailer
time.It still wouldn't open,I tried to uninstall firefox but it says I can't
    because firefox is running ?

I have bookmarks that It took months to find on there!

    Can anyone help Please.

For your bookmarks, they are in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox go ahead and back them up to a safe place.

Now uninstall Firefox (make sure it isnt running by pressing ctrl+alt+dlt and looking for a firefox process.)
Reinstall it and import your bookmarks into the same folder as before.

Bookmarks are in a file called bookmarks.html.

However, your problem is with your Firefox profile, which is not changed when you re-install Firefox. Firefox creates a default profile when you install it, if one isn't present. If you already have a profile, it won't create a new one.

Your problem is that using your profile with 1.5 changed it to the new 1.5 profile structure, and it will no longer work with previous Firefox versions.

Try creating a new profile(don't delete the old one yet): http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/profile#new

Make sure that you have it created in the default location, or make a new, empty folder to put it in if you create a profile in a different location.

If the problem doesn't exist when running a clean profile, then do this: http://the-edmeister.home.comcast.net/tips-html/tips-restoring_your_browsing_data.html

You also have to re-install extensions and installed themes.
