FireFox

Hello
Sometimes when I use FireFox, a box appears with different options which I do not know how to handle.
There pop ups, extensions plugins etc. It says 'disable, and other choices. How are you supposed to know what to select?

What kind of options are these?

Could you send us a screenshot of that?

It's normal to see in Firefox that window, but i don't know what do you want to keep inactive, so if you tell us the options we could give you an idea of what you have to do.

I wish I could oblige you but these options only appear once in a while and I did not have the presence of mind to screen shot them.
I will try to do so next time they appear.
I think you know the update box that appears now and then with the choices i described like 'disable' for addons or plugins etc.
I will have to look for specifics next time.
it is just that, intuitively, I cannot see how one can make an functional choice without some guideline.

In firefox, the tools menu then addons will show that same window, likely what is happening is one addon is doing an update, so it is giving you the option to enable or disable that updated addon. You can also always bring that up through the menu - tools - addons. Your welcome to post a list of your currently enabled addons and we can check and make recommendations for you on what to leave enabled.

I have few addons, there is also a list of recommened ones, then there is a web page full of them. There are also extensions and others.
I think the question is,"When the box appears and asks to disable or enable any thing, is there a general rule of thumb or do you have to be expert to decide.
!! What if you ignore the box, any harm done?
This would simplify matters.

I understand a lot better now. The checker showed all but three were OK.
From now on, I will read as carefully as I can, at a web page, then decide.
I feel you think it advisable to update the addons rather than avoiding them so I shall.
