I am using Firefox 17 and it was working fine but now the search bar will not work. When I put a site in the url it will work. I have uninstalled Firefox and then cleaned the registry with Ccleaner. I reinstalled Firefox and it still will not search. I am using Windows 7. I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

What exactly does "not work" mean?

I just had the same problem, I would type in the search bar and when I clicked Search nothing happened, it just stayed on the start page,no matter how many times I clicked Search. But I uninstalled FF, then I searched for all the Mozilla-FF files and deleted them, then I removed the Mozilla keys from the registry, then ran Ccleaner, reinstalled FF and everything is working fine now.

That is exactly the problem I am having. How do I delete all the Mozilla FF files and how do I remove the Mozilla keys from the registry? Thanks.

Hi my friend , you can go to

Start - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs

removing the mozilla , even go to

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

removing all files of this folder , if any folder can't remove you should use this tool

    to exempt from leftovers :wave

Make sure you use the %appdata% option as well there will be hiding files in there as well when you think you got all the files then it should be good.

click on the my computer option then in the address bar type. this ---> %appdata%

or use the run option as well.
