I just finished thoroughly cleaning up my pc with Matt and everything was fine except that now I'm having problems accessing certain websites and parts of sites. I think it has to do with the firewalls and pop up blockers, etc. I'm wondering if I'm now overly protected and how to fix this. Can someone please contact me about the problem? Thanks.........Chris

Might need a little more info there, which firewall, in doing the cleaning did you erase all your cache history, along with your cookies, etc.??

What type of firewall do you have?
If you are using IE, go to Tools>Internet Options>Privacy and assure that the Block Most Popups is checked. Now in that same tab click Settings and look at filter, make sure its at Medium:Block Most Popups. This is the default secuirty setting for IE

I'm not sure exactly what firewalls are running. I recently installed SP2 and that's actually when I started having problems. It's possible there are more than one running. Also, since installing SP2, IE shows a lot of "page not found" messages. Is it stopping me from opening these sites because of all the added security from SP2? How do I find out exactly what kind of security stuff got installed?

    Go to Start>All Programs>Accessories>System tools> Security Center
Now tell me what you have listed under Anti-virus and Firewall

The only things listed there are Symantec Antivirus and Windows firewall. Not sure what is keeping pages from opening. Can you help?

Im not sure why those 2 applications would be blocking websites
here, download CCleaner and run it, then see if your sites can be accessed

    HI!
You might also try THIS: (It works for me when I'm unable to get to Google.com, Microsoft, & others for some reason)

    Start>Run>type: cmd >OK
Type: ipconfig /flushdns and hit Enter.
    ^
Note the space between the g & /
Exit Command Prompt. Now try surfing.
