There are some programs that my firewall is blocking that I am not sure it should be. Could someone please tell me if these application should be blocked or allowed. Or does it even matter? They are listed below.

    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSIEXEC.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WBEM\WMIPRVSV.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\EHOME\MCRDSVC.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE

    Thanks to all.

MSIEXEC.EXE is windows installer; I don't think it needs to access the internet. it only runs when you install a new program.

If you have this WMIPRVSV.EXE rather than WMIPRSV.EXE it might be a trojan

MCRDSVC.EXE has to do with Media Center; it doesn't matter

EXPLORER.EXE is of course Windows Explorer; it dosn't matter.

Okaaaaay...how would I find out if it's a trojan or not? And, yes, it is WMIPRVSV.EXE. What exactly do you mean by might, plodr?:confused
