Firewall Recommendations

I am looking for a GOOD firewall program besides Zonealarm that is abosolutely free. Any suggestions?

 

There are several to choose from.. Kerio and Sygate are popular favorites. There is also Comodo.. although I believe the jury is still out on it as it is pretty new. All of which can be found here on Major Geeks.

Symantec now own Sygate and although you can still download and use for free I don't think you can update it anymore. Maybe someone else can say for sure.

 

Is there anyone that has tried the Comodo Personal Firewall, that can give us a review of the program? Or is there a web site that we could check out to compare and rate the program?

I've been using the Comodo Firewall the last couple of days so far, seems to work fine, no slowdowns or problems, not hard to configure.

Haven't used it long enough to give a full review, though.

 

I use Outpost and find it very effective so I 2nd this one.

 

I have been using Comodo Personal Firewall for a couple days now and it works really swell. It took me an hour or so to get it working 100% with the way my network is setup. (Shared Dial-Up Connection). Anywho it works great after I customized to the way I want and seems to be blocking quite a bit. I did a couple of security tests and it passed both of them with ease.

I will need to use it a little bit longer though to give a rating on it.
