Firewall Solution for Windows ME?

Okay, so ZoneAlarm won't "support" Win9x/ME systems anymore, but does that mean that they won't run, or just that they won't help you over the phone with it if it has trouble? If it means it won't run, then can someone recommend a good firewall option for a Windows ME system?

We had conflict issues with a Japanese ME OS and ZoneAlarm and the only Firewall that seems to play nicely is the old Sygate Firewall at the bottom of the link. I'm still searching for a decent one myself but this is our current one (i.e. for ME).

 

Will the Sygate Firewall stay up to date, or is all support for it cancelled? Though I suppose that firewalls don't get updated as much as antivirus applications do, a firewall that can't ever be updated isn't favored. On the other hand, I guess any firewall is better than no firewall. So, what's the answer on that one?

 

Thats a very good point but I find it very hard to find any Firewall that is compatible with the very finicky ME OS but to add even more frustration my missus wont allow me to install XP as it's not in Japanese and wants to persist with this pesky ME kernel. Tell you what I have just tried the Outpost FW from the Freeware DL page and am liking it very much so far, although there is no further updates for it I think it will be fine unlike AV. I have Outpost Pro on my sys (PC1) below and find it solid.
