Which free firewall do you think is best and why. I currently don't use 3rd party firewall and I'm looking for something that will not slow down my browsing too much. TIA to all replies,

yup COMODO is the best free firewall out (since zone alarm 7 was a disappointment)

    Thanks for the replies folks,

From what I understand there are 2 ways to install Comodo FW... Basic & Advance. Advance is recommended. How, when and where do you choose advance installation during setup?

Good Firewall. I just hope you don't have to uninstall it at some time. I've tried every suggestion, downloaded "fixes" from Comodo and still have Registry leftovers after trying to remove Comodo. Bazza

I concur with Steve_East9. I've been using Comodo for quite a while now. Never any problems. (I've never uninstalled it however, no need as I haven't found a better, free, full capability firewall to replace it.)

There is a "flag" for "advanced/learning mode" during the installation, whereas "common elements" are automatically set (IE, Explorer, etc) but you will be asked to ALLOW and REMEMBER MY ANSWER during activities, and a choice to TREAT AS PROGRAM INSTALLATION so you're not "flagged" for every element of a program install.

How about the new AVG software that has firewall with the virus protection?
Also, with this particular software is it best to total remove windows xP firewall?
