I have never had a firewall and have seen a lot of people recomend them. My dad had ZoneAlarm, but it caused all kinds of problems with his home network. Can anyone tell me a good freeware firewall, and give me some pointers on how to set it up in win98se?

P.S. I'm planning on having a small home network myself.

If you configure ZoneAlarm right, you should be allright. If you put the home network in the Trusted-Zone (safe-zone) and the internet in the Internet-Zone you should be OK. Be sure to allow programs that need to access the internet access and those you don't--block.

    This should work for you

Cobra is correct, If you setup your network before installing Zone Alarm you should be fine. If I remember correctly ZA will detect the network after you install it and offer to configure it for access. HTH
