Anyone doing or going to watch any good show? We're doing our own since we're outside of any of the towns having shows. I bet those in larger cities get to see a really good show! The best I ever saw myself was in Orlando while sitting in a park in town outside a REO Speedwagon concert. Everything came to right over our heads.

And now with Brexit in may be another "Freedom" day to add to the calendar? ( I know you don't like it Kes!)
    Not poking fun just curious.

    Happy 4th to ya!

Not going anywhere. I love watching fireworks, however,Puppy-Mimsy becomes absolutely terrified, to the point of going near-catatonic, unless she is drugged with sedatives and other dog-friendly feel-good drugs. So we are both staying at home with the dog, and practicing various meditative breathing techniques so we'll sound calm to an animal capable of hearing heartbeats and breathing rhythms. and hoping that the fireworks in our particular town stop before 2:00 AM this year...

    katkat - September ?
Must be the Labor Day thing.

Mimsy - the sensitive dog is probably lucky to have you for it's people. I hear dogs can sense low sugar attacks and siezures coming on. And we probably will never know all they're capable of. Happy Quiet 4th to you and yours!

Well, it is half an hour past midnight, and the fireworks are over... the dog, still lightly drugged, is relaxing again and has begun putting herself to bed in her usual spot in the corner in my little den.

    All is well again.

    Awww. :(

We are lucky as our dogs don't pay attention. Growing up we lost a dog on the 4th of July. She ran away during the fireworks.

We did fireworks the day before. I like short dramatic ones and these worked. :)

We did a road trip to north Mississipppi once to see fmily and took our then only dog, a big basset / blood hound rescue dog. Came home through the middle of Alabama down I-65. Lots of hills and valleys. Out of nowhere the hound started his oooowwwwing at the moon style bark. We couldn't figure it out. This went on and we're trying to calm him when finally catching up to us was a group of maybe 15 Harleys. He howled as they approached, as they all passed and till they were gone . Finally he settled down when they were long gone from sight.

Yes, the hearing and maybe sense of feeling vibrations is amazing.

Thanks Mimsy. It was. I was probably 8 or so. I can remember searching and searching but we never found her.

So, I feel for those with dogs that are scared of them. It's awful seeing them terrified. I wonder why some are and some don't pay any attention at all.
