First build problems

So after putting together my first computer, I ran into a problem.

I put everything in and turned on the computer. The processor and motherboard fan start up and the LED on my case turns on, but I don't get any video. I used the video card from my old system, a PCI Radeon 9250. I tried all 3 different slots. My monitor works, the card works because I just took it out of my last system. Also, the CD drive won't respond with the IDE cable plugged into it. If I take the IDE cable out, and leave the power cable in, it works. Put the IDE cable back in, and it doesn.t Does anyone know what could be causing this problem? A bad motherboard? Something not connected right? Thanks in advance for any help.

have you reset the cmos jumper or removed the battery for 20 secs?check the atx 12v is connected,you dont need any ide cables,harddrives or cdroms connected at this point or any pci cards apart from your vid card

The memory you have currently installed will bottleneck your computer badly,sell the nearest family member as soon as possible and buy a gig of ddr 3200 preferably a matched pair

 

Nevermind everyone, I got it working. That little 4 pin power connector in the middle of the board somehow eluded me. Everything's working now though. Thanks for the fast reply, and I know about the memory. I ordered a gig of Corsair DDR 3200 dual channel ram and it should be arriving soon. After that, a new video card is in the works. Then I'll be set.
