first graphics card

    I know verry little about graphic cards I need HELP. Ive got an older PC - Lenovo ThinkCentre M58 Desktop 4GB RAM, 2 TB HDD, Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz (FSB 1333MHz L2 Cache 6MB) What would be the best graphics card that I can install in this computer I want to play some older games like counter strike

    Yeah, you have an Intel video card which is a bottleneck in itself. They should be banned.

    For under 100 bucks you could pick almost any card from Nvidia (I happen to prefer them) or AMD that will make a huge difference. Anything more expensive would be overkill but make sure you know the power supply wattage before you shop although an affordable video card upgrade for that computer should keep you in the range of video cards that don't need a large 400-500 watt power supply. I am reluctant to recommend one because there are a lot of choices but if you find one, stop back. If you like a certain manufacturer or brand, that would narrow it. For example here's cards from 50-99.

    I think the Slots available are:
    One half-length, low profile-height, PCI Express x16
    One full-length, low profile-height, 32-bit PCI 2.3 (5v)
    my question is can I use a PCI Express 3.0 x16 & does it need to be low profile?

    PCI Express 3.0 will work. If it calls for a low profile card, yes, you need one. A full size card will not fit inside the case.
