Mind you this is in a VirtualBox. I have extra drives and may try to load Chromium on one of them.

The First thing I saw in ChromeOS was a security warning. It was on iGoogle and then on Gmail last night. Tonight it was on Google Calendar (which never worked in iGoogle or as sidebar to Gmail in Ubuntu for me either...)

Gmail is all sized wrong for the desktop and I logged out and back to find that NONE of my tabs were there. This shot is after the other pictures uploaded in this series. Note that no only does Gmail not render correct size, but chat has no sound....

Mind you, this is a developer edition and so there may be many things broken.

I hate to say this, but its not a game changer. Not even a score changer. Its going to work purely from the cloud.

    Some things come to mind.

--the world is hardly wired for internet everywhere.
    --Internet congestion.
    --Security.
--Sensitive data in the cloud? I don't think so.
    --Data loss risk.
--data access across the net is slower than from media.
--expensive? It will only come on certain devices which means its locked down, and as I understand, only to run on SSD as well.m So much for running on underpowered hardware.

Anyone who doubts that data loss can happen in the cloud, ask a Sidekick customer who was present for the recent data loss fiasco.

I would say that Chrome OS has a very small chance of taking some marketshare from...who am I fooling? Nobody.
