FL Studio - ACM Codec?

OK, I'm turning to the experts here after some frustrated web-surfing.

I just installed FL Studio 4.1 on my machine (winXP, WMP series9) and it runs great...with one small exception. All the .wav files packed with it, used to created beats and so forth, don't play. I opened them up outside of FL with WMP and it won't play, saying it's searching for the codec to download, and then hangs up saying the module could not be found.

Under the properties on the .wav files, it says "ACM codec not installed 'unknown 26447.'" I checked online, downloaded several different "Lame ACM" codecs (version .9 is all I could get to here at work)...but I already have version 1.9.0.305 of the L3codeca.acm and 1.9.0.401 of the L3codecx.acm...so the ones downloaded didn't help. I'm at work, and most of the freeware sites are blocked so I can't find out if there is a later version or not. I also don't have internet at home, so I'll be at a friends house doing the downloading...which is why I'm here (of sorts).

Ok, on to the question: Do you think an updated codec is all I need? (I think 3.51 is the latest) If I install yet another ACM Codec, is there anything else I need to do? Is this even the problem?
I'm so confused right now it's rediculous, so try and forgive me if this post doesn't make any sense...I'll clarify it if need be.

 

Gspot! I can't believe I forgot about that program. I actually have it installed on my computer at home, but rarely use it.

Something called an "ogg vorbis" is what it was saying, and after a bit of searching, found a download on an obscure russian site (that finally wasn't filtered out). Incidently enough, it is a type of ACM codec, and it did fix my problem.
