Flash drive and winlog.exe trouble

Hello,
I am having trouble with two PNY flash drives (2GB and 16GB). Windows keeps writing two files onto them: autorun.inf and winlog.exe.
Secondly, on my XP machine, as soon as I inserted one of them a winlog.exe 'no disk' error keeps popping up telling me to insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk\DR3, and keeps popping up every 5 seconds or so, no matter how many times I thought I clicked 'cancel'.

Could someone help me fix/stop this? It's fairly urgent, because my computer's hard to work with with that message popping up all the time. If you could help me get windows to stop writing those two files (without my authorization), that would also be very helpful.

By the way, note that I have two computers - one with Vista and internet access that caused the problem, and one with XP (no net access nor protection software) that is taking all the slack. I really don't know what's going on, so if anyone has an idea of what to do, it would be most appreciated.

 

You could also try this tutorial if your flash drives cannot be formatted any other way (through the drive's properties tab in My Computer). Be careful though and make sure you follow the instructions. If you didnt install the software you are talking about being on the drives, be careful not to infect other computers, as it may be a virus that was somehow installed on the flash drive in Vista.

 

Unless you have the Salfield parental control software on the your computer, one of them is infected with a Trojan which is attempting to set the flash drive so it will infect any other computer you plug it into!
Try Combofix or MBAM to remove it.
