Flash Drive & Merging Registry Backup?

    Hello Everyone: I just made a registry backup onto my Flash Drive, what I wanted to know is, If windows wont open when I start my pc, can I merge this backup from the FD to the computer and get it to boot or does windows have to open in order to merge a registry? Thanks

    Windows (with the registry) has to be running for you to be able to put in another registry that is a backup.
