    Hello
I removed some data from a flashdrive by formatting it.I noticed the omly choice was FAT 32 which can read older drives.
Should most flash drives be this or NTFS I chaged it to?
Example, if I bought a new one, which would it be?
    Thank you

Most flashdrives are formatted to the lowest popular denominator, so as to "appeal" to most buyers. Usually FAT 32.

Most buyers, nowadays, would prefer NTFS however, IMO.

If you are using XP then you have to use a workaround to format a flashdrive to NTFS. For Vista (IIRC) and Windows 7, then NTFS is provided as a format option in the OS.

Also Hard drives are quite often NOT formatted to NTFS as standard, so take care on any drive you wish to add to your PC.

    Hi Bib
Yes, I studied the isue and found how to change the flash to NTFS but do realize most large drives are NTFS while ?under a gig are FAT.
With this in mind I returned the flash to FAT.
