Flash Get Problems

I have been using flash get as my down loader for more than a year and 3 days ago i got a message to say that a new update was ready so i downloaded it all went well for a couple of hour then i noticed my PC was getting slower and slower so i cleaned out the rubbish thinking it was that but no improvement, to cut it short i tried just about every thing available but nothing seemed to speed it up.

i re formatted and it was back up to full speed so i started loading my progs back in from my external HD all of a sudden we were back to so slow it would time out when trying to load a web page.

i started uninstalling progs one at a time until i found it was Flashget v1.9.6 the updated version.

any one know how i can resolve this please as i am out of ideas.

i have tried a couple of downloads with it and for the moment all is well, if i develop any problems i will repost here.
