Flash Player causes IE to crash

Ever since I downloaded the lastest Flash player from the Macromedia site, I haven't been able to view any Flash based websites. When I try to open a page, I get an Internet Explorer error message, "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close... We have created an error report that you can send..." (which I do every time, but I think they just dissapear into a Microsoft blackhole...) Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?

I have temporarily solved the problem, by uninstalling all versions of Flash Player on my machine, but I can't view any Flash sites. As you can imagine, this is a real pain in the a$$!

Have you tried upgrading IE in windows update? if that dont work try mozilla or firefox.

 

When IE crashes, you can view the technical information.

Whats the modname, modver, and appver?

Try this:

Start, run

regsvr32.exe msvcrt.dll

Click OK.

 

Thanks for the tip, tried it and got this error message.

"msvcrt.dll was loaded, but the DllRegisterServer entry point was not found.

DllRegisterServer may not be exported, or a corrupt version of msvcrt.dll may be in memory. Consider using PView to detect and remove it."

Could you please translate this into layman's English. Thanks again for your help.
