I'm using Firefox 7.0.1 . Whenever I am on a webpage that is using Flashplayer (Youtube, I heart radio, etc) and I leave the page without first clicking "stop" on the player, all instances of Firefox totally freeze up, and I have to shut down all instances of firefox via task manager. Before I go uninstalling and reinstalling stuff, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this, and what you did to fix it ....?

Flash Player problems are usually solved by Properly uninstalling Flash with the Adobe uninstaller, reboot and then install the latest version.

    This post should help:

Just tested on my win 7 (64 bit) with FF 7.0.1 and I do not have the freeze problem.

Disable some of your addons and see if one of those is the problem.
I have 6 addons installed. Since it works with ABP and noscript, you don't need to disable them.

Of course, you could get in the habit of stopping the video first. :major

I could, but that isnt the only time it freezes. Sometimes it will freeze up if i switch between webpages while flash is running and other times when I just don't know why it happens.

Ok. That was fairly painless. Used the flash uninstaller, cleaned up with Ccleaner, reinstalled flash, reinstalled the firefox plugin and it seems to be working as it should now . Thanks mjnc .

    Cool. :cool

Wish I had as much success. rolleyes
Was trying to watch videos on MSNBC and got the same message as reported in another thread about needing to Update Flash Player.
Of course, I already had the latest and always follow that procedure.

Did all of the same stuff and a Full uninstall of Opera with Revo Uninstaller with the Advanced mode cleaner several times as well as multiple uninstalls / reinstalls of Flash Player.
Never got it to work in Opera or Pale Moon although other Flash stuff works.
THEN, I had hours of trouble getting Opera to work properly again. :banghead
Fortunately, I keep a couple of backups of the configuration files and for the major stuff, I know which ones do what. ;)
