Have tried to download Flash Player, umpteen times.........All I get after I click the to go to download is a little box with three tiny icons in it......... (not a red X). And no place to click for the actual download/install.
Using Windows XP. 256Mb Ram, Cleaned, scanned and defraged. Did a complete reformat about a month ago and have not been able to get the Flash Player to download? Was able to download Shockwave though. But not able to see anything done in Flash, because I can't get it to download.
Help, if you know what I might try.

make sure your browsers security settings allow ACTIVE-X Controls to run.

Yes, Active X controls are enabled, except for those not marked safe and are unsigned. But am pretty sure that Flash from Macromedia would be ok. Security is set to Custom Medium in Internet Zone.

Gee Nick, can you have 2 browsers? Have never used any browser except Internet Explorer. Then if downloading Flash does work using Opera, would I need to get rid of Opera? And where would I get Opera? I'll do a search for it and see what I can find out.
Thanks for the suggestion. Never thought about anything like doing that. But am really lost on this problem.

Nick; I did find Opera, but think doing that is too much for this ol' gal. I did read some of the tutorial on Opera, But can't see doing all of that just for that darn Flash program. There has got to be a different way of downloading it. It seems to me that the problem might be with one of my other programs interfering with it being downloaded or even IExplorer it's self.

I see that you are in the UK. My very best friend also lives there in Manningtree. We met on the internet and have been penpals for about 3 years now. Or rather email pals.

    Hi Nutmegan
Yes you can certainly use two browsers. Opera or mozilla are both very good and popular. There is obversely something amiss with your IE/firewall settings which is preventing flash from being downloaded. As i say give opera a try you will be delighted i am sure :)

    Nutmegan:

I use this Macromedia page from time to time to check my system for the latest versions of Flash & Shockwave.

If it finds an out-dated version, it auto-installs the latest for either or both.

Maybe it will work for you.

    Happy trails,

Fleabus: Still get the same little box with the 3 icons in it on that page. . It was worth a try anyway.
