flash player

    just wundering if anyone else is having issues with downloading the flash player pluggin for firefox.
    i had a virus the other day and went through the cleaning procedure and upon researching the problem found it to be related to macromedia now i dont have this pluggin after cleaning the malware out and i am unable to download and install it.neither manually or through the firefox browser.:cry:confused

    What happens when you try to download if from here?
    http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

    After it is downloaded, you must close your browser. You also have to be logged in as an administrator. Double click on the download and it should install.
    Open FF and type about:plugins in the address bar.
    It will be listed as Shockwave Flash.

    thanks for the fed back plodr tried your link but the same thing get to the download page and nothing.i got the install missing pluggin bar at the top of the page and that just downloads a gp.xps file that i can open.searched some more and found a link at filehippo that let me download and install it.dont no why macromedia or adobe download site wont work for me will have to investigate some more.

    When I go to the adobe site and get some sort of bar at the top, I close that. Do not try and install a missing plugin - it is for an installer that you do not want nor need. It turns out to be a security problem and a few weeks ago, there was some sort of notice about looking in add/remove programs and removing it.
    Eventually you will see something like "if you are having trouble with the download" or "if the download does not start" following by a hot link that says click here. That's what you want to clikc because then you get the download popup box and you can select to save the file. You get the icon shown on that page and after you close your browser, click the flashplayer icon and it will install.
