No matter what I do I can't download Adobe Flash Player. I've tried to uninstall avg freeware as one idea, but still can't download it, flash player. At 63 I'm not the best at the computer, but always trying!

Does a line appear at the top of the viewing area of the screen? The one that you have to accept in order to proceed? Are you getting stuck before or after that information bar? What browser are you using?

Adobe's site has a troubleshooter, did you try this page for help - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83770.html

Are you trying to download for Internet Explorer, Firefox/Opera or both browsers?
You must install one version for IE and another for other browsers.
Once I know, I can point you to a download site that is not adobe but it is safe.
Also what version of windows are you running?

I can get it downloaded and see it in my programs. I am using ie6 or 7. It doesn't show on the the start programs. When I try to view any video, I'm told that I don't have Adobe Flash Player and to download it? After I get rid of all Flash Player stuff as per others advice and start over with the new download, I agree to the adobe terms and am told that it is done. Still can't open it! Thanks

Flash will not show in your listing of Programs when you click start; it is an "addon/plugin" for your browser.
You can download it here http://www.filehippo.com/download_flashplayer_ie/
sometimes from the Adobe site, you get another program that is supposed to help you install the flash player; sometimes it works and sometimes you end up tearing your hair out trying to figure out what it is doing.

After it is installed, close your browser and reboot to be sure it is installed. Then go to a site and see if you can view the video.

Thanks for the replies, but I'm still unable to use it. Can download, see it in the programs, but it isn't working. When I go on eBay and there is a flash picture/movie, it tells me to down load adobe flash player to view. Thanks again!

So are you using IE 6 or IE 7?
You need to enable it in your browser; if you have it disabled, you'll be told to download and install on any site that needs it.
I see this in FF all the time because I run noscript (it's safer browsing that way) and I need to make some tweaks before a page shows me everything I want to see.

Also, give me one page that tells you that you need to download flash so I can see what is actually needed.

I do not want you to send me a page.
Go to a website that reports the problem, then copy the address of that web site and paste it into your next post so I can go to the same site.

What do you mean windows 6?
