    Hi all,

I can watch msn videos but when I try to watch you tube I get the following message.

"Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player."

My Java and flash both appear to be working and up to date. I can use them on other websites.

I have not made any recent changes that I am aware of.

I would like to turn off Zonealarm to see if that is the cause however viewing you tube with no protection would be pc suicide.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you.

Not so. I have plenty of friends that go to YouTube regularly with just basic virus protection like AVG and they don't have problems. I think if you turn off ZoneAlarm for maybe 5 minutes it would be OK, just to see if that makes a difference.

If you are running FF with the noscript addon, you have to temporarily enable two things: youtube.com and ytimg.com

    dlb,
I disabled Zone Alarm Suite & WinPatrol, Video still does not play. Same message.

    plodr,
    IE.

    Curious.

O.K. I know the progs are installed fresh.
It seems as if flash is refusing to start on command.

nFLVPlayer was installed to view msn video. (conflict?)

    krit86lr,

I removed Flash in Safe mode and reinstalled.

    Worked perfectly.

    Thank you!

    Right back to the start!

Is there a substitute for flash other than quicktime?
    I will try them all.

flash is not quicktime so no, one is not a substitute for the other.
Flash was originally a macromedia product which Adobe bought.

    A few questions. :)

    What OS are you running?
Did you uninstall Flash with the Flash uninstaller?
Are you sure that JavaScript is turned on?

Java and javascript are not the same thing.

If that doesn't work did you try deleting cookies?
